+ | === The Load Transmission Data Panel ===
+ | |||
+ | ==== Access ==== | ||
+ | The '''''Forecast Definition Window''''' using the '''Data > Load Data''' menu option.
+ | |||
+ | ==== Purpose ==== | ||
+ | To specify the date range of Transmission data you want to load into a Forecast Definition from your default Transmission System data source.
+ | |||
+ | ==== Transmission System Data Loading Modes ====
+ | A Transmission System data can be loaded into a Forecast Definition in one of two modes:
+ | *Date Range Mode, which uses system data for all periods in the Forecast's Effective Date Range (or a user-entered date range)
+ | *Period Mode, which uses system data from a single period and applies it to all periods in the Forecast's Effective Date Range
+ | |||
+ | ==== How EMarketOffer internally constructs Transmission System data ====
+ | When creating the Transmission System data ''EMarketOffer'' first uses the latest data files to build the basic grid. The Transmission System is modelled as a set of lines with specific ratings (taking into account Summer, Shoulder and Winter changes, or VLRs). Any line re-ratings scheduled in the falling within the Forecast Effective Date Range are applied over the top of the original ratings. Finally any Equation Constraints that were or will be applied during the Forecast Effective Date Range are activated accordingly.
+ | |||
+ | NOTE: ''EMarketOffer'' currently only accesses historical grid data to build grids. When Forecasting, you will need to add your own future data where you think it will be different to what happened in the past. (As of early 2013, Energy Link is working on new capability that will allow ''EMarketOffer'' to predict equation constraints for future grid configurations.)
+ | |||
+ | === Date Range Mode ===
+ | |||
+ | ==== Access ==== | ||
+ | By clicking on the '''Date Range''' tab in the Load Transmission Data Panel.
+ | |||
+ | ==== Purpose ==== | ||
+ | To select a date range for loading Transmission System data into a Forecast Definition.
+ | |||
+ | ==== Load Items ==== | ||
+ | A Definition loaded through the Date Range Mode will contain the following:
+ | *Base Grid Configuration
+ | *All re-ratings applied during the date range
+ | *All Group Constraints applied during the date range
+ | |||

+ | |||
+ | === Period Mode === | ||
+ | |||
+ | ==== Purpose ==== | ||
+ | To select a specific period to provide the basic Transmission System data for all periods in your Forecast Effective Date Range.
+ | |||
+ | NOTE: When using Period Mode ''EMarketOffer'' applies the basic grid and re-ratings to obtain the System Configuration for the Period and applies this to all periods in the Effective Date Range. It does not keep specific record of Circuit re-ratings or Equation Constraints, which are kept when loading in Date Range Mode.

- Check the Load Offer Data Check box
- The Offers data will be loaded with the next load data operation.
The Load Transmission Data Panel
Access
The Forecast Definition Window using the Data > Load Data menu option.
Purpose
To specify the date range of Transmission data you want to load into a Forecast Definition from your default Transmission System data source.
Transmission System Data Loading Modes
A Transmission System data can be loaded into a Forecast Definition in one of two modes:
- Date Range Mode, which uses system data for all periods in the Forecast's Effective Date Range (or a user-entered date range)
- Period Mode, which uses system data from a single period and applies it to all periods in the Forecast's Effective Date Range
How EMarketOffer internally constructs Transmission System data
When creating the Transmission System data EMarketOffer first uses the latest data files to build the basic grid.
NOTE: EMarketOffer currently only accesses historical grid data to build grids. When Forecasting, you will need to add your own future data where you think it will be different to what happened in the past. (As of early 2013, Energy Link is working on new capability that will allow EMarketOffer to predict equation constraints for future grid configurations.)
Date Range Mode
Access
By clicking on the Date Range tab in the Load Transmission Data Panel.
Purpose
To select a date range for loading Transmission System data into a Forecast Definition.
Load Items
A Definition loaded through the Date Range Mode will contain the following:
- Base Grid Configuration
- All re-ratings applied during the date range
- All Group Constraints applied during the date range

Period Mode
Purpose
To select a specific period to provide the basic Transmission System data for all periods in your Forecast Effective Date Range.
NOTE: When using Period Mode EMarketOffer applies the basic grid and re-ratings to obtain the System Configuration for the Period and applies this to all periods in the Effective Date Range. It does not keep specific record of Circuit re-ratings or Equation Constraints, which are kept when loading in Date Range Mode.
